MICHAEL J STRANG
Michael studied
under David Poole (President of the Royal
Society of Portrait Painters), Anthony Eyton RA,
Ben Levine RA, Dick Lee, David Hepher and others
at Wimbledon and Camberwell schools of art
between 1968 and 1973. He paints landscapes,
flowers, seascapes, still life and portraits.
He accepts commissions and his work can be found
in various collections in the UK, Canada, the
USA, China and Europe. Michael has work in
various collections, among others; Penlee House
permanent collection, Brecon Museum collection,
Cornwall County Education collection with
Hepworth, Heron, Nicholson, frost et al
(exhibited recently in Truro Museum), St Martin
in the Fields, London and Surrey University. He
has painted professionally since 1973 and has
shown in an impressive list of galleries.

is an artist difficult to categorise, label or
pigeon-hole with any accuracy, as the wide range
of styles and subject in his current exhibition
at Trereife Gallery shows. While they have been
described as being ‘Constable landscapes as
painted by action man Jackson Pollock’, more
than anything, whether portraits, still life
studies, seascapes or landscapes, they are
paintings made by an artist who has heard, who
is both a romantic and a realist, but one who,
above all else, believes in and strives for
excellence at all times………
