One of the highlights of visiting Trereife must be the guided tour, carried our by present owner Tim Le Grice. Tim’s extensive knowledge of the history of the house and the families that have lived there is fascinating and this, coupled with a number of humourous anecdotes, results in a truly engaging hour! The tour starts in the entrance hall with a talk about how the Le Grices arrived at Treriefe and then guests are lead round various rooms in the house finishing up in the old library which houses a vast array of beautiful old books and family logs.
Trereife will be open every Wednesday between the 18th May and 1st October 2011 from 11.00 until 4.00. The last tour of the year will be on Thursday 29th September. Guided tours will take place at 2pm and 3pm. The cost of the tour is £5 for adults, £4 for concessions and children under 16, accompanied by an adult go free (complimentary tickets for bed and breakfast guests). If the 2pm tour is full (30 people) then visitors will have to come back at 3pm.
While waiting for the tour to commence why not explore the beautiful gardens at Trereife or simply enjoy sitting looking out at the sea in the distance in the old walled garden which catches perfectly the summer sun. Trereife’s cafe will be serving a wonderful selection of light lunches and homemade cakes before or after your tour. On a sunny day you can enjoy your refreshments at the tables in the courtyard.
