Contemporary design from designer-makers in the beautiful and historic grounds of Trereife House

A celebration of the quality and diversity of contemporary design and an opportunity to buy a wide range of furniture, interior products, ceramics, glass, lighting, jewellery, textiles and fashion accessories. The Cornwall Design Fair in association with Hidden art presents contemporary design from established names and up-and-coming designer-makers.

We are delighted to announce that The Design Fair in association with Hidden Art will return to the glorious setting of Trereife from 21-22 August. The event offers the public a fantastic chance to buy direct from the maker. The Hidden Art Cornwall Design Fair will present contemporary design from over 80 designer-makers with a wide array of products. The Gallery at Trereife will be hosting one of its most exciting exhibitions to date. ‘The Five From St. Ives’ include Anthony Frost, Bob Devereux, Colin Freebury, Stephen Prince and Russell Hedges. Furthermore, we are delighted to welcome the Penzance Literary Festival to Trereife. Pz-litfest 2010 is a ‘grassroots’ community festival, for everyone who enjoys reading and writing. So come and celebrate the creative and versatile literary life of West Cornwall with us! And prepare to be intrigued, inspired and entertained! We are one of six venues that will host Wednesday to Friday’s activities and you’ll find fascinating exhibits on book conservation and demonstrations of book-making and illustrating, and self-publishing. There will also be antiquarian Cornish books and books by festival speakers and local authors for sale. Cornish Country Fayre- Saturday 28th August 2010

The spectacular backdrop of Trereife Park, near Penzance, will be the setting of a summer fayre on Saturday 28th August.

A range of attractions will give the event the atmosphere of a traditional country fayre, with a companion dog show, heavy shire horses, and the Western Hunt horses and hounds. A range of classic cars will be on display and visitors will be welcome to browse an array of food, craft and trade stalls, while local Jazz bands provide the soundtrack.

Other star attractions, however, looks set to be the Falconry display, Cornish wrestling, as well as Ferret racing and magnificent Steam Engines.

Party in the Park- Sunday 29th August 2010

This stunning venue is the setting for an annul music event. Party In The Park is all about the best local bands playing in front of the best crowd, all under one roof !
The event is being held under cover in marquees within the beautiful and historic grounds of Trereife Park, 1/2 mile west of Penzance on the A30 Lands End road.

Great Reggae/Dub Band that are sure to get the party in the park crowd moving! Not to be missed!

THE PANICSTRUCK
These hard hitting Indie Punkrockers were recently hand picked to support ASH, they have played Boardmasters Festival and are set to be supporting one of MTV’s top 25 bands in the world right now! Bang Bang Eche (29th July in Truro)

THE SURGEONS
Hailing from 1977… these ‘original’ punk rockers will simply blow you away with their three chord political punk! Be Warned!.. they do not play Disco songs!

iPONY
A band who need no introduction… iPony are most definately one of penzance’s most popular bands with their catchy tunes!

SHADE OF RED
Indie Experimental Pop Rock, they rocked Lafrowda… lets see them rock Party in the Park!

Trereife Christmas Gifts Fair- Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st November

Open 10 am- 5pm

The weekend kicks off in magical style with a series of demonstrations and a programme of entertainment, as well as an art exhibition in the Gallery.

The Craft Fair will take place all under cover in heated marquees and over the course of the weekend, visitors may browse a range of quality art and craft. A selection of local food suppliers will be on hand to tickle your taste buds, making it the perfect opportunity to stock up on an array of fine foods and drinks for the festive season. Poet’s Cafe will also be serving a selection of homemade refreshments.

Should you fancy a diversion from the Christmas gift buying and nibbles, Tim Le Grice will be conducting tours of his historic home, allowing visitors to absorb Trereife’s extensive history while supping on a glass of mulled wine.
