Well Ruth Watson has given us a lot to think about…. yurts, B and B, literary festival all in one very short summer! After she left we thought about it all and realised that to get everything she suggested off the ground before the start of the following season would be an enormous job (as well as rather expensive!) so have decided to do this in bite size chunks to make it a little less daunting! So for this season we have focused on the accommodation in the house and redecorated four rooms and the self-catering flat in the courtyard.
Looking to the future we are hoping to include a couple of yurts (or similar structures) in The Walled Garden for 2012 -after the trial run with the geodome last year we think the walled garden would be the perfect place for these structures, it’s peaceful and is the ideal location for long summer evening BBQs. The beaches of Cornwall offer a great deal in terms of action and adventure and part of our plan is to integrate surf holidays into our accommodation packages. Guests will have the chance to ‘Surf and Yurt’. We’ll keep you posted on how that develops!
Plans are underway for a literary event in 2012, the drawing room lends itself well to readings and poetry and this would be extended to include events in the courtyard around the cafe and in marquees on the lawn…… watch this space for more!
